The Studio Light Rig is a high quality collection of lights, background  cycs, and pre-made lighting rigs that allow you (the 3d professional) to  easily light your scene with realistic soft boxes, octagon soft lights,  fluorescents, and more. It supported for 3dsMax 2010sp1 and above and  also available in Mental Ray AND V-Ray versions! The Studio Light Rig is  a pro, no nonsense tool that doesn’t get in the way of your normal  workflow. It’s only job is to make beautiful studio lighting easy.

The Studio Light Rig is not made up of entirely new lights.  This tool  was developed with native 3ds max tools in mind.  No need to worry about  plugin conflicts or render farm issues (in fact, network rendering is  free). The rig is not a plugin, it simply uses existing Mental Ray and  V-Ray lights and enhances them to have more realistic falloff and  reflections.  Each light has slight surface imperfections that mimic  real studio light surfaces. The result, very realistic reflections.
