On the very same delivery day of Autodesk 3ds Max 2012, cebas Visual Technology Inc. is able to serve up its versions of both finalRender™ 3.5 and 3.5 SE (including finalToon™) for the newest version of 3ds Max. The software is available in both 32- and 64-bit versions and available for immediate download from the cebas website.
Changes in Service Pack 7
-Minor shadowing issues in the Rectangular light have been isolated and fixed
-Distributed Network Rendering: synching light cache data over the network has been enhanced
-Distributed Network Rendering: minor crashes in rare situations during GI synchronizations have been solved
-Distributed Network Rendering: distributing GI solutions to the slaves when using the Harmonics-GI engine is now more efficient
-Overall Improvement when loading GI solutions
-Performance and Proxy detection when instancing proxies has become more accurate
-Major improvements in shadow computation on curved surfaces
-Usage of scatter along with sub maps has been enhanced
-The update process and calculation times when using scatter has been dramatically improved
-Scatter now supports proper instancing of fR-Proxy objects
-Scatter has become much more accurate when animated objects are used-
-Minor crashes while using scatter and adding collision objects has been fixe
-"Updating objects" on pass has had major improvement and is much faster now
-Updating instances can now use all available system cores for processing (fully multi-threaded)
-Overall stability improvements when using foreign materials
-A suspected memory leak when using fR-Proxy objects has been isolated and solved
-DomeLight now calculates shadows much faster
-fR-Architecture is now able to properly support translucency with area lights
-Reflect/refract material ID has become fully operable when using Render Elements
-Matte/Shadow material has been fixed to properly handle reflections
-finalToon is now crash-free when "Only Silhouette" option is used
-The line detection code has been optimized and improved on scenes with small scales
-Occasional crashes when using the line style editor along with material editor have been reduced to none!
Service Pack 7a’s fixes include:

Reported issues of missing lines related to fR-Proxies have been addressed
finalRender:
Potential hangs or lockups when handling finalRender materials in the material editor have been isolated and fixed
fR-Wire: a possible crash in the material editor with scanliner is eliminated
fR-Dirt: a possible crash while using proxies is eliminated
Physical Sun: shadows from sunline no longer produce artifacts on proxies
fR-Architecture: "Disable Locals" malfunction in the raytracer settings is fixed
Render Elements: maps did not load in material RE when there was no replacement material in the scene is fixed
Render Elements: Opacities and Render Elements are working efficiently
